You are bidding on a very fine 4/4 violin, labeled Andreas Postacchini firmanus fecit sub titulo s. Raphaelis Archang. 1836.
The instrument remains in good condition with some small not visible repaired cracks on top. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 207 mm.
Materials: very nice two pieces softly flamed maple back with matched sides and straight high grained spruce top. Brown color varnish over golden ground.
The sound is very deep, rich, powerful.
