Sikhote-Alin meteorite Iron meteorite - 103 g

We are selling a 103g Sikhote-Alin meteorite pendant from a well-maintained private collection. This specimen has museum quality. The Sikhote-Alin meteorite fell on February 12, 1947, at 10:38 AM local time in the eponymous Sikhote-Alin Mountains in Siberia. More than 240 eyewitnesses observed the fall. With a weight of approximately 100 tons before entering the Earth's atmosphere, the Sikhote-Alin was one of the largest meteorite falls ever observed. About 70 tons survived the flight and reached the Earth's surface, while the rest of the material vaporized in the atmosphere.
