Description from the seller

Height: 35,5 cm.
Length: 15,9 cm.
Weight: 1842 g.
Condition: Age-appropriate patina, some verdigris in water font, blue glass intact, no repairs.

This Jugendstil holy water font was created by Austrian sculptor A. Titze around the 1910s. Titled "Ecce Mater," it depicts a tender Madonna and Child in bronze relief, framed by a canopy of striking cobalt-blue glass. Such devotional objects were treasured gifts for christenings, weddings, and religious occasions in Central Europe. Today, it serves beautifully as a Catholic devotional piece, a conversation-starting wall accent, or a centerpiece for Art Nouveau-inspired interiors.
