Blue hand-blown crystal vase by Val Saint Lambert, made in Liège, 34 cm high with a 17 cm maximum width and 7.8 cm depth, weighing 2.2 kg, featuring gold inclusions and abstract bubbles, signed by master glassmaker Louis Leloup with the inscription “Louis Leloup + ALG 1947-1977” dated 1977, in good overall condition with minor age spots.
Description from the seller
Organic-shaped vase in hand-blown crystal, deep cobalt blue color, adorned with gold inclusions and abstract bubbles creating a fluid and luminous pattern.
Piece signed by hand by the Belgian master glassmaker Louis Leloup (1929-2025), with the full inscription “Louis Leloup + ALG 1947-1977,” dated 1977.
Original 'CRISTAL' label glued to the body.
Dimensions :
- Height: 34 cm
- Maximum width: 17 cm
- Depth: 8 cm
- Weight: 2,200 g
Asymmetric teardrop shape with a stylized spout, typical of Leloup's sculptural creations in the 1970s, after his independence (1970) and his experience at Val Saint Lambert.
Good overall condition for a 48-year-old part.
Some subtle age spots (mostly internal, related to the natural oxidation of inclusions or to patina).
No chips, cracks, pits, or repairs. Smooth, glossy and stable exterior surface.
Louis Leloup is known for his vases and crystal sculptures with complex inclusions (gold, bubbles, chromatic effects). The pieces signed with date and an additional inscription (here “ALG 1947-1977” – possibly a limited edition, a collaboration, or a personal dedication) are not well documented on the market. This large model (34 cm) and heavy weight (2.2 kg) is unusual in his known production.
Sold as is.
Reinforced packaging and highly secure shipping are mandatory (heavy and fragile item).
Accurate photos (all sides, signature, label, inclusions, surface details).
A rare and authentic piece for collectors of Belgian art glass, mid-century and post-Val Saint Lambert.
