This antique Orthodox icon is a thick, curved board with side fastenings and a central recess. The board is coated with a pavolok-based primer and painted with tempera paints. The recess is decorated with silver foil, as seen in the photograph in the upper left corner; the corner is open for a more complete view. On the reverse of the icon is an inscription in Old Church Slavonic; the first line is difficult to read, followed by a description.
