Luc Lauras presents Z animaux, a Limoges porcelain sculpture, edition of 75 pieces, created in 2003, signed by hand, France, with dimensions 16 × 20 × 21 cm.
Description from the seller
Z’ANIMOS, 2003. Limoges porcelain. Edition of 75 copies. 23 × 33 × 17 cm. “The silhouettes of the carcasses of the ‘z’animos’ by Luc Lauras, to borrow Frédéric Roux’s beautiful expression, proliferate, multiply, pass into the third dimension; the herd takes shape and strength, victory is near. All cousins, all different, the ‘z’animos’ are an archetype cubed—every animal in one that is not any particular animal….”
The main piece is a limited edition in white porcelain, signed, accompanied by two variants: – a pearlized version (an artistic modification on the same base), – a terracotta version. The collection illustrates a process of material variants around a single work, a common practice in contemporary sculpture. The sculptures come from an old family donation, with no invoice preserved, originating from a Bordeaux exhibition. The authenticity and stylistic coherence are, however, clearly established.
