Large ecclesiastical candlestick – solid brass – circa 1900

Very fine and heavy ecclesiastical candlestick made of solid brass, executed in a classical style with tripod and claw feet. The details (leaf motifs, foot claws) are sharply cast, typical of brass from around 1880–1920. This type of candlestick was used around 1900 in churches, monasteries and chapels.

The richly designed foot with floral and volute motifs carries an elegant, decorated stem that ends in a wide candle dish. The top plate is suitable for candle use. The warm gold-yellow brass color and natural patina attest to age and authentic use.
A solid and decorative object with a stately appearance.
