Statuts des Moniales Chartreuses, by Le Masson, is the first French edition (1690) published by Claude Faure and La Correrie, translated from Latin by Innocent Le Masson, in half-leather binding, 358 pages, 18.5 × 12.5 cm, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Very rare first French edition of the Carthusian Statutes translated from Latin by Innocent Le Masson (1627–1703), Superior General of the Grande Chartreuse at La Correrie from 1675. He took the initiative in 1680 to install printing presses there, and from 1690 to 1695 Claude Faure, a printer from Grenoble, worked there. From the presses at La Correrie came forty-eight editions of Carthusian liturgical books.

Seller's Story
