This piece is an authentic original one-of-a-kind Japanese animation cel, hand-painted by studio artists at Toei Animation and used directly in the creation of the anime Candy Candy.

As an original production material, this artwork is unique, with no duplicates in existence.

Created for internal studio use under the direction of Toei Animation during the original broadcast production period of Candy Candy in the mid-1970s.
A Certificate of Authenticity will be included with your purchase.

This original animation cel features Candice White, the beloved protagonist of Candy Candy, captured in a gentle and expressive scene characteristic of the series’ warm storytelling and classic shōjo animation style. Production materials from Candy Candy are highly sought after due to the series’ enduring popularity and the scarcity of surviving hand-painted cels from this era.

This item is presented interleaved with MicroChamber paper, an archival material used to protect artwork by reducing harmful acids and paint fumes which damage animation cels over time. We are currently the only seller in Japan offering anime cels presented in this manner.

Please note that this is a vintage item. Despite careful storage, age-appropriate wear or other minor imperfections may be present. Buyers are encouraged to examine all images carefully prior to bidding.

Important Condition Note:
Due to age-related adhesion, the cel is attached to the paper. The item will be shipped as-is. Professional conservation is recommended if separation is desired.

Condition: Good
(Colors on both the animation cel and background remain bright and well preserved. There is slight yellowing of the paper due to age. Staples securing the cel and background together are present, as originally used during production.)
