Antique walnut cigarette-dispenser box with decorative gold plates set with cabochons dating from the early 20th century.

This box is made of solid wood, most likely walnut, with a beautiful warm brown patina. It rests on a moulded base and has a lid with a longitudinal slot, typical of table cigarette boxes, allowing cigarettes to be inserted without a full opening.

The box is richly adorned with decorative plaques in golden metal, finely pierced, applied to the lid and the side faces.
These ornaments in historicist/Neo-Renaissance style are set with glass cabochons:
- white cabochons (opaline glass)
-green cabochons with emerald effect
-central red faceted cabochon, ruby effect.
The ensemble offers an elegant contrast between the sobriety of the wood and the decorative richness of the metal.
