Pancho Porto, Kids with, a bronze and steel sculpture from Spain dated 2022, edition 15–25, signed by hand, measuring 25 cm wide, 14 cm high and 8 cm deep, weight 1 kg.
Description from the seller
Bronze and steel sculpture by Spanish sculptor Pancho Porto, edition of 25 numbered and signed copies.
Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in the specialty of artistic woodworking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school, he first encountered disciplines such as carving, drawing, and modeling, and most importantly, working in the workshop.
Later he enrolls in the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, where he studies what will, in the future, be his main discipline: sculpture. It is in this school where he already works with materials that will be basic to his work, such as steel or clay. At the same time, Porto continues his education on his own and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes.
After this initial training phase, he decided to set up his workshop on the banks of the Sarela River, very close to where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular investigation, both theoretical and practical, into the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new ways to communicate and narrate his story. Since then, this has become the usual tone of his works, adding complexity and depth to his entire body of work, with themes that touch on both social issues and his personal experiences.
