Description from the seller

Decorative antique wall plaque featuring a finely modelled cherub (putto) in relief, playing a musical instrument, set within an ornate gilt frame richly decorated with acanthus leaves and classical scrollwork.
The central relief appears to be made of composite material / resin or plaster, mounted on a light background, and surrounded by a gilded wooden or composite frame in Neoclassical / Baroque Revival style.

This type of decorative artwork was popular in late 19th – early 20th century Europe, often inspired by classical Roman and Renaissance motifs. Ideal as a wall decoration or as part of a traditional or eclectic interior.
