"Kisaragi" (如月) - Toshi Yoshida (吉田遠志) - Japan

Item Description:
This is an original woodblock print by renowned Japanese artist Tōshi Yoshida (吉田遠志), titled “如月 (Kisaragi)”, also commonly known as “Warbler on a Plum Branch”.
The composition features a Japanese bush warbler perched gently among blooming plum blossoms, symbolizing the arrival of early spring.
Yoshida’s expert use of delicate linework and muted colors brings a sense of harmony and realism to this serene nature scene.

This work was hand-drawn and produced by the artist himself, and it comes with an original certificate of authenticity issued by Franklin Gallery (Tokyo), dated Showa 57 (1982).
It was released as a limited edition available only through the gallery, with the artist’s approval.
The print includes the artist’s printed seal in the image and a hand-signed pencil signature in the bottom margin.

The artwork is professionally framed with a mat and ready to hang.
Please note that the wooden frame has some dents, and the glass surface shows minor scuffs, consistent with age.

Artist Profile:
Tōshi Yoshida (1911–1995) was the son of Hiroshi Yoshida and a leading figure in 20th-century Japanese woodblock printmaking.

His prints are celebrated for their elegant compositions, technical mastery, and universal appeal.
As part of the Yoshida family’s legacy, his work bridged traditional Japanese techniques and modern international sensibilities.
