Description from the seller
Set of 12 consommé cups, height 4.8 cm x diameter 12.5 cm, with saucers of 17 cm diameter, in high-quality cream-colored porcelain with a solid-gold edge. The consommé cups are two-handled cups used to serve broths, creams, or soups. These sets are often considered collectible items. Marked on the bottom: Thomas Ivory 1939 ~ 1952, produced in Germany. The red numbers "01390" and "84" are probably internal model or production numbers specific to the item. Company history: this porcelain comes from the renowned Thomas Ivory Bavaria company, which boasts a rich history and tradition in the production of exceptional porcelain. The company began production in the mid-19th century and quickly earned a reputation as a producer of high-quality porcelain. In the period 1939–1952, it created some of the most exquisite and valuable porcelain pieces, which to this day remain highly sought-after collectibles.
It is worth remembering that in 1908 the company was acquired by Rosenthal. In 1960 production at Marktredwitz was halted. As a replacement, the new Kulm plant in Speichersdorf was inaugurated, which is still part of the Rosenthal Group.
