Cloth condition: Original green blind stamped cloth with gilt title, author's name. Profile of an elephant in gilt to the front cover and a tiger to the rear cover. Blind stamped decoration to the spine with four animals in gilt. Top of pages in gilt and in nice condition with no dust remarkably. The other page edges are rough cut.

Generally, very good with small bump top right on front board. Gilt images to rear and front in good condition. Slight fading of images and wording on the spine commensurate with age. Binding tight with slight shelf lean. No splitting. Owners name neatly written on copyright page.

Variable foxing throughout the book. Most pages are clean with minor foxing. Some have a little more as you can see in images provided.

Overall, a nice copy of a very rare book that's 131 years old.
