Description from the seller
Gi-Erre – paperweight / desk object “Two-Faced Gentleman” – aluminum alloy – Italy, ca. 1965–1975 – height 14.5 cm
Description
Original paperweight / vintage desk accessory produced by Gi-Erre (Italy) between the mid-1960s and the 1970s.
The subject depicts a stylized 'bifacial' character: a serious face on one side and a broad smile on the other, an ironic and typically mid-century solution designed for the office environment and the desk.
Made from die-cast aluminum alloy, it features clean incised graphic lines and an aesthetic linked to the period's modernist-pop taste. Decorative yet functional: it can be used as a paperweight/desk object and remains perfectly stable when standing.
Conditions
Good vintage condition, with signs of use and superficial scratches consistent with age and function. No breaks and no deformations.
The original 'Gi-Erre' mark is well engraved on the base. The engraved details are clearly legible.
Dimensions
Height: 14.5 cm
Max width: approx. 4.5 cm
Thickness: approx. 7 mm
Collecting notes
A typical item of Italian decorative production from those years: a small “desk icon” mid-century, interesting for collectors of 20th-century design and for creative or vintage environments.
Careful shipping with protective packaging.
