This week a few very good jade items offered with no reserve price! A very rare small Chinese celadon jade censer – China – mid of 20th Century On offer is a very rare small Chinese jade censer with 2 handles and standing on a flat feet. On the outside, the 8 attributes of the 8 immortals are visible! It has a nice meander pattern finish just under the rim. Carved and polished by a skilled professional to a semi-glossy appearance. The design is well known in bronze but occurs much less often in jade! This small censer has a beautiful natural appearance with green accents. The censer is semi-translucent. Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: This jade comes from inland China. a Valuable and rare jade, very suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! Please see test results and pictures. Note; The attributes of the eight Immortals symbolize Daoism, transmutation and happiness. Each of the symbols is the attribute of one of the Eight Immortals - legendary figures said to have obtained immortality through the elixir of life produced by alchemy or by eating magic fruits. These 8 attributes of the 8 immortals are; - Double-gourd, which contains all magical medicines, of Li Tieguai, dispenser of medicine. - Peach and Fan of Zhongli Quan represents the military man.
