Description from the seller

Al dente Chess - Mystery
Pasta Portions Collection No. 1

This chessboard is part of the 'Scacchi al dente' series and is entirely handmade in plaster.

The base and the pieces are born from artisanal craftsmanship that deliberately leaves small irregularities visible—signs of the manual process and of the piece’s uniqueness.

The pieces, inspired by pasta shapes, reinterpret the classical language of chess in a playful and contemporary key. The bright yellow evokes simple, everyday material, while the contrast with the red-and-white chessboard creates a balance between game, design, and sculpture.

More than a functional object, the chessboard presents itself as an artistic work: an invitation to rethink the rules, transforming strategy into a light and convivial gesture.

A hand-made pasta chessboard in Italy in 2024, complete with chess pieces, is a unique piece from the collection of a Campanian artist.
"Stile Naïf outsider" fits in well in any setting, from the most playful to the most refined.
