This is a lithograph created by Vladimir Veličković (Serbian: Владимир Величковић; August 11, 1935 – August 29, 2019).
Dimensions: 57 x 88 cm
Dimensions with frame: 58 x 89 cm
Veličković was a Serbian artist who lived and worked in Paris for most of his adult life. He studied architecture at the University of Belgrade and was an assistant in Krsto Hegedušić's studio in Zagreb from 1963 to 1966.
In 1965, he was awarded a prize at the Paris Biennale, after which he settled in Paris the following year. In 1967, he gained widespread international attention with an exhibition at the Galerie du Dragon in Paris, establishing himself as one of the leading artists of the Narrative Figurative movement.
In 1983, Veličković was appointed professor at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he taught until 2000. In 1985, he became a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Kragujevac. Additionally, he was awarded one of the highest French cultural honors: Commander in the Order of Arts and Letters. His work has been exhibited since the 1950s in numerous countries across Europe and North and South America.
