Characterful antique wall cabinet made of solid oak, with a restrained yet powerful presence. This cabinet has been painted in the past; subtle remnants and traces of that are still visible and give the piece an authentic, well-used patina that is impossible to reproduce.

The cabinet is equipped with a single door featuring a handsome wrought-iron key plate and ring handle. Inside, a shelf and, at the bottom, two small drawers, ideal for storing documents, devotional items, or small household goods. The construction demonstrates traditional craftsmanship, with mortise-and-tenon joints and manually finished details.

This type of cabinet was often used as a wall cabinet or storage cabinet in rural interiors and church settings. The later coat of paint points to a functional re-purposing over time, which makes the piece of furniture even more historically layered. Today, the cabinet is excellently suited as a sober statement piece in a classical, country, or wabi-sabi interior.

Condition: good antique condition, with signs of use appropriate to age and use. Old paint residues present, no active woodworm observed.
