Description from the seller

An elegant antique crystal decanter dating to the early 19th century, around the 1830s. Crafted in fine French crystal from the renowned Montcenis/Voneche, celebrated at the time for their exceptional clarity and refined glassmaking techniques.
During the early 19th century, French crystal manufactories experienced a golden age, supplying aristocratic homes and grand salons with luxurious tableware for cognac, brandy, and fine spirits. Crystal from this period was prized for its brilliance, weight, and purity, often hand-cut and polished to enhance the play of light.
This decanter reflects the understated elegance of the era, with balanced proportions, timeless form, and noble simplicity. It would have graced a gentleman’s bar or dining table, used for serving cognac during intimate soirées and formal gatherings.
In excellent vintage condition, with minor signs of age consistent with time, adding to its authentic charm and historical character.
