LEBANON. 1 PIASTRE. 1955.
- Value: 1 Piastre.
Year: 1955.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: inscriptions in Arabic with the denomination and the date, surrounding an open laurel crown that encircles the central hole, flanked by stars. Reverse: REPUBLIQUE LIBANAISE · 1 PIASTRE · 1955, with a laurel crown around the central hole.
- Rating: MS64 (NGC).
Perforated brass 1 Piastre coin, part of the Lebanese monetary series of the 1950s, featuring a well-balanced and functional design. The obverse presents a sober composition, dominated by a finely engraved leafy wreath and elegant Arab calligraphy, while the reverse combines clear Latin typography with classical decorative elements. The specimen shows crisp relief, excellent definition in the crown leaves, and clean fields with the original lustre well preserved. Subtle minting contact marks are evident, fully in line with its MS64 grade, offering an attractive and cohesive overall visual appeal.
