Antique, hand-hammered copper water kettle dating to ca. 1890–1910, with three solid brass feet and an original faucet marked “B.C.S.”; height 45 cm, width 33 cm, from West‑Europe (likely Belgium, the Netherlands or Northern France) and in fair used condition, decorative collectible not tested for modern use.
Description from the seller
Antique copper water kettle / tea kettle with a tap, circa 1890–1910
Description:
Very fine antique, hand-hammered copper water- or tea-kettle vessel, dating from the end of the 19th century to the early 20th century (ca. 1890–1910), of West European origin (probably Belgium / the Netherlands / Northern France).
The vessel rests on three solid brass feet and is equipped with an original brass faucet, marked “B.C.S.”. This maker’s mark is known from historical faucet manufacturers from that period and confirms the timeframe and originality of the component. The faucet and the vessel display an equal, natural patina and are very likely originally mounted together.
The copper is clearly hand-hammered, visible in the irregular hammer blows. The design is sober and functional, typical of late-19th-century artisanal copperwork and related to the Arts & Crafts influence from that period.
This type of barrel was originally used as a hot-water or tea boiler and is nowadays valued mainly as a decorative collectible.

Feet: three, solid brass
Lid: original and removable

state
