Egermann original vessel, hand-blown Bohemian crystal with hand-engraved wildlife motifs and gold accents, produced in Nový Bor, Czechia, circa 1970–1980, height 28 cm, width 16 cm, depth 16 cm, weight about 2 kg, in unused condition.
Description from the seller
Offered for auction is a rare and elegant handcrafted glass vessel of the “nargin” type, produced by the renowned Czech glassworks Egermann in Nový Bor, the heart of Bohemian glassmaking.
This exceptional piece is made from thick, hot-worked (hutní) Bohemian crystal, hand-blown and carefully shaped without the use of molds. The vessel is richly decorated with fine hand engraving depicting wildlife and landscape motifs, complemented by luxurious gold band accents that enhance its refined, timeless character.
Thanks to its traditional form and robust construction, this piece is highly versatile and may be used:
as a decorative water vessel,
as a base for a water pipe (hookah / nargile),
or as an original vase for floral or dry arrangements.
The warm amber tone of the glass, combined with the engraved décor, creates beautiful depth and subtle light reflections. The thick walls and stable base give the object a solid, high-quality feel, making it both a functional item and a striking interior centerpiece.
Each Egermann piece is entirely handmade, meaning no two examples are exactly alike. Minor variations in engraving and color tone are natural and serve as proof of authentic artisanal craftsmanship.
