Description from the seller
Art Deco decorative motif – Winged insect
Sabino, Paris
Rare and delicate Art Deco decorative piece in pressed molded glass, made by the Sabino house in Paris, one of the most emblematic artistic glassworks of the interwar period, renowned for the purity of its lines, the quality of its glass pastes, and its poetic interpretation of the naturalist repertoire.
This piece depicts a stylized winged insect, likely inspired by a dragonfly, with its wings widely spread, finely veined and treated with great graphical elegance. The drawing, at once fluid and structured, perfectly illustrates Art Deco aesthetics, where the mastered stylization of nature is combined with a search for balance and formal clarity.
The glass, in a subtly opalescent hue, captures and diffuses light with gentleness, creating plays of transparency and satin finish characteristic of Sabino productions. The precise shaping of the body and wings testifies to a high level of technical mastery, giving the whole an presence that is at once airy and sculptural.
The piece is signed “Sabino, Paris”, attesting to its authenticity. It rests on an integrated circular base, ensuring discreet and elegant stability.
The condition is very good, with only a tiny chip to report, rarely noticeable to the naked eye, with no impact on the artwork’s aesthetic impression or its decorative quality.
Dimensions :
– Height: 14.5 cm
– Width: 13.5 cm
