New Zealand sheep wool is of particularly high quality. It is velvety soft, light, shiny, and has especially long fibers (long-staple). In carpet weaving, it is mainly used in India and Nepal for especially high-quality and fine carpets. To emphasize the wool's sheen even more, natural silk is very commonly used in the carpets. New Zealand wool is dirt-repellent, durable, and long-lasting.
