Description from the seller
For sale: a pair of vintage pendant lanterns with a chrome/nickel-plated metal frame and a transparent glass cylinder, European production in the postwar era, datable roughly to the 1950s/1960s.
The design recalls the Neoclassical / Regency style, with understated lines and light decorative elements:
top worked with curls and a suspension ring,
a cylindrical glass central body that leaves the bulbs completely visible,
internal base with a double lamp socket for each lantern, shaped to resemble small metal candles.
The silvery finish of the metal (likely brushed nickel or silvered brass) gives an elegant and timeless appearance, easily pairing with both classic settings and more contemporary interiors. Pieces of this type are often associated with Italian or French productions of the era, in the style of Gaetano Sciolari or Maison Jansen.
Era: 1950s–1960s approx.
Type: pair of pendant lamps / lanterns
Materials: metal with a silver finish, clear glass
Light points: 2 lamp holders for each lantern (4 in total)
Style: Neoclassical / Regency, decorative yet essential.
Conditions: good vintage condition, with normal patina and small signs of use on the frame (see photo); glazing intact. The electrical system is functional, but as with all vintage pieces, it is recommended that a trusted technician inspect and, if necessary, upgrade it before installation.
Ideal to use in pairs to enhance:
entrance or corridor,
stairwell,
kitchen or island,
boutique, showroom or lobby of a hospitality establishment.
The rarity of finding a matched pair makes them particularly interesting for collectors and interior designers.
