This annual edition from 1990, 'Dolphins', is the first year piece of the second SCS trilogy that was named 'Mother and Child'.
The dolphins were very popular at launch.

The 'Mother and Child' trilogy is unique for two reasons:
- this is the only time (to date) when a designer (Michael Stamey) designed all 3 pieces of a trilogy
- and the entire trilogy is made of clear crystal without frosted crystal components.

The dolphins are made of clear crystal and swim on the crest of a clear crystal wave.
