Description from the seller
The Montblanc Writers Edition Alexandre Dumas (1996) fountain pen is in very good overall condition, showing an excellent level of preservation consistent with a carefully maintained collectible item.
The cap, made of polished black resin, retains a deep, uniform shine, with very slight surface micro-scratches only visible under close inspection and direct light, characteristic of occasional use and the passage of time. No dents, cracks, or material loss are evident.
The body made of marbleized resin retains its original amber and brown tones intact, with well-defined veining and no discolorations, cracks, or structural marks. The surface features a clean and uniform finish, with no signs of significant wear.
The gold-plated items—the clip, rings, and cone—are in very good condition, with bright gold plating and no visible wear. The clip preserves its decorative relief perfectly, including the portrait of Alexandre Dumas, with well-defined edges.
The Montblanc star on the upper cap is intact, centered, and undamaged.
The engraved serial numbers and the manufacturing markings remain sharp and perfectly legible.
The rotating mechanism operates smoothly and precisely, deploying and retracting the tip correctly.
Overall, it is a very well-preserved specimen, ideal for both the discerning collector and for occasional use, notable for its excellent aesthetic appearance and proper functionality.
