Description from the seller

Very rare first edition, illustrated, of this important treatise on the nails of the Holy Cross and the Passion of the Lord, written by the Augustinian Cornelius Curtius (1590-1638).

Cornelius Curtius, De clavis dominicis liber, Munich (Ingolstadt), Raphael Sadelerus (Guilielmus Ederus), 1622.

PP.: (XX), 186, (XX). The original title page is missing, replaced by a photocopy, but otherwise complete.

Sample with cards in overall good condition, but with restorations on the first cards using Japanese paper. One of these, on the back of the A3 card, covers some lines of text. The last card has been countermarked.

20th-century binding in half parchment with handwritten title on the spine, well preserved. White flyleaves.

Seller's Story
