Jar (3) - brass and enamel - Cloisonne set meiji perio

Antique Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Set – Meiji Period Decorative cloisonné enamel set comprising three matching pieces: a pair of baluster-shaped vases and one spherical lidded jar. The set is attributed to the Japanese Meiji period (circa 1890–1910). The set is executed on copper bodies using the traditional cloisonné technique, with finely applied wirework and richly coloured enamels. The decoration features phoenix birds (Hō-ō) in flight among scrolling floral and cloud motifs, symbolising prosperity and renewal. The background is rendered in a distinctive copper-brown aventurine-style enamel, creating a subtle sparkling effect and exceptional visual depth. The two vases display balanced, symmetrical compositions, while the lidded jar harmonises with the set through identical colour palette and iconography.
