Description from the seller
Hammered yellow copper cache-pot covering the entire body, with a slightly flared shape. At the top, a band of yellow copper 2.5 cm wide runs around the cache-pot. Along the rim, a twist of yellow copper. On each side, a lion head in yellow copper and relief — in the lion’s mouth, a ring in yellow copper.
The base consists of a yellow copper basin that fits the cache-pot; the interior is tin-plated, which prevents oxidation.
at the bottom, the stamp "handmade - Guillaume Dinant" and a label from the distributor in Belgium.
Dinant, a town in the Walloon Region of Belgium, is renowned for copper and brass work. From sheet metal, the dinandiers produced utilitarian and decorative objects by hammering them. These dinandiers were nicknamed the Metal Beaters.
This production can be dated to the 1950s - 1960s.
