Vuarnet XP sunglasses with a brun acetate frame, made in France, one size, vintage in very good condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
A pair of authentic Vuarnet XP sunglasses, made in France, dating from the late 1970s to early 1980s.
The XP designation, visible on the temples, corresponds to Vuarnet's technical and high-end range at that time, intended for sport use and intensive use.
Thick dark brown acetate frame, of very high quality, with XP metal inserts on the temples. The design is typical of the French sportswear style of the late 1970s: strong lines, curved temples, robust and balanced construction.
The glasses are equipped with Vuarnet mineral lenses, renowned for:
– an excellent sun protection
– a high resistance to scratches
– high-end optical quality
(contrast, sharpness, visual comfort), far superior to modern plastic lenses
This model has become iconic because it was worn by Magnum, portrayed by Tom Selleck, in the cult series Magnum, P.I.
The photos from the series here serve as stylistic and historical reference, perfectly illustrating this model and its era.
Condition: good vintage condition, with an age-related patina. No structural cracks. The signs of time confirm authenticity.
