Description from the seller
Werner Reuber, born in 1947 in Essen and living in Düsseldorf, is one of the leading German painters and woodcutters of his generation.
He studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1970 to 1976, during which time he was a pupil of Prof. Gerhard Richter — more precisely, Reuber became Richter's master’s student.
His artistic practice combines themes of relationship, gender, nature and time with a visible engagement with printmaking techniques—particularly woodcut—but also with painting, ceramics and actions with the group Die Langheimer, which he has been running since the early 1980s together with Ulrike Zilly and Robert Hartmann.
