Vintage Waterman’s Ideal nº 452 fountain pen, preserved in very good overall condition considering its age (first quarter of the 20th century).

The overlay in Sterling silver (.925) shows normal and uniform wear typical of use, with superficial micro-scratches and minor handling marks visible only upon close inspection. The geometric engravings remain well-defined and deep, with no areas erased, indicating non-overpolished silver. 'STERLING' markings are clearly legible on both the body and the cap.

The cap fits correctly, with no looseness, with the original Waterman 'Clip-Cap' clip firmly attached, straight, and functional. No cracks, dents, or repairs are visible on the silver.

The base body of ebonite is structurally sound, with no visible cracks. The dark coloration is uniform, with a slight patina consistent with age.

The Waterman's Ideal nº 2 nib in solid 14 kt gold is kept in very good condition, with proper alignment of the tines, a clean breather hole, and no cracks. It shows minimal wear at the tip, consistent with normal use. Classic flexible nib, not forced.

The lever-loading system is complete and original. The condition of the internal bag has not been checked; inspection or replacement of the bag is recommended before continued use, in accordance with usual practice for non-restored vintage pens.

Overall, it is an honest, complete, and well-preserved specimen, suitable for both collection, light restoration, and use, representative of Waterman's high manufacturing quality in its classic period.
