Figurine - Frechdachs ( deugniet) - Patinated bronze

Nicely executed French fin-de-siècle bronze genre sculpture, depicting a pipe-smoking boy in a relaxed, lightly ironic pose. Such characterful children’s figures are typical of the French genre bronze tradition around 1900. The statue is cast in solid bronze, with a warm original patina and mounted on a marble plinth. On the base there is a cast signature (Moreau?). Based on style, execution, and signature, the work could be attributed to the Moreau circle or a related French atelier, active at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. A decorative and collectible object from the fin-de-siècle period.
