Flora Danica – Royal Copenhagen
silver, enamel and 24K gold-gilt brooch, Denmark**
Elegant and collectible brooch from the prestigious Flora Danica tradition by Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. The piece is executed in silver (hallmarked 925 S) and decorated with a finely hand-painted enamel botanical motif on a white enamel ground, depicting a flowering plant with blossoms, leaves and roots in the characteristic scientific botanical style associated with Flora Danica.
The enamel plaque is mounted in a silver frame with a beaded border finished in 24 karat gold gilding, in accordance with the traditional decoration used on Flora Danica pieces. The combination of enamel painting, silver and gold-gilt detailing reflects the high craftsmanship and attention to detail for which Royal Copenhagen is renowned.
The reverse bears clear Danish hallmarks, including: S (sterling silver)

The brooch retains its original pin and clasp, both in good working order.
