Austria, Vienna, 2 Schilling, 1934; commemorative coin issued after the death of Engelbert Dollfuss, graded MS64 by NGC.
Description from the seller
AUSTRIA. Vienna. 2 Schilling. 1934
Valor: 2 Schilling.
Year: 1934.
Inscription: DR. ENGELBERT DOLLFUSS surrounding the bust to the right with the dates 1892–1934; OESTERREICH with the double-headed eagle and the value 2 S on the reverse.
- Rating: MS64 (NGC).
Commemorative coin issued after the death of Engelbert Dollfuss, federal chancellor of Austria assassinated in 1934, a key figure of the Austrofascist period preceding the Anschluss. The obverse features a sober and realistic portrait of Dollfuss, in a right-facing profile, with good modeling of facial features and natural treatment of the hair, while the reverse shows the Austrian double-headed eagle with central shield, symbol of the federal state. The specimen retains an attractive original tone with residual luster visible in the fields and reliefs, showing slight contact marks consistent with the MS64 grade. A piece of notable historical and political interest within Austrian numismatics of the interwar period.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and is completely out of our control. Thank you for your understanding.
