Abundantly and richly illustrated with photographs and drawings -

La Vie Illustrée is an illustrated weekly founded in October 1898 and discontinued in 1911, which relied heavily on photography in its treatment of current events. This periodical covers French and international news: the haut monde and the crowned heads, national and international politics, military events, travel and explorations, scientific discoveries, Medicine, miscellaneous news, fashion, literature, theater, etc., etc.
