Gigi Comolli 1893 1976 , nasce a Milano, si può ritenere un artista autodidatta pur seguendo corsi d'arte presso l'accademia di Brera, si specializza nella pittura di paesaggio venendo affascinato dalla tradizione lombarda ottocentesca .
Nella sua produzione si propone come interpretare della campagna Lombarda , del Ticino o del lago Maggiore, che ritrae con massima sensibilità prediligendo l'orario del crepuscolo, viene definito anche un pittore delle acque per l'attenzione che pone alla resa dei torrenti, fiumi o laghi .
L'opera, lago montano , olio su tela centimetri 70 X 55 , rappresentante un chiaro esempio della poetica di Comolli , dipinto in buone condizioni generali, corredato di cornice , firmato in basso a destra .
