Vase - Ceramic - Middle East - Qajar dynasty (1796–1925)

Large ceramic vase from the early 20th century from the Middle East. Painted decoration with creatures from the animal kingdom and a centaur from the mythological world. Two Arabic texts adorn the vase above the decorations. A vase or jar that may have been used for oils or herbs. Has been used as a lamp base in the 20th century, as evidenced by the hole in the bottom and the "conduction path" on the edge of the bottom. Also has two chips on the upper edge/opening (see photos).
