Description from the seller
Pair of ceramic vases decorated with cherubs in Capodimonte style, stamped "Capodimonte Italy" – Italy, mid-20th century
Description
A refined pair of glazed ceramic vases with raised-relief decoration, made in Italy in the second half of the 20th century, featuring rich neoclassical iconography.
The vases feature a lively decoration with dancing putti, botanical motifs and mascarons, executed by hand with the use of polychrome enamels and gilding. The composition recalls the neoclassical taste and the decorative tradition linked to the Capodimonte area and related manufactories, reinterpreted in a twentieth-century key.
The shapes are slender and elegant, with a square base, a fluted shaft, and a richly modeled central body. The vases probably originated with a lid, now absent.
Decorative objects with a strong visual impact, ideal for classic, eclectic furnishings or settings with a historic aesthetic.
