Achéménide bronze phiale, dated 500–400 BC, with a 13.5 cm diameter and 4.6 cm height, hammered and tin-plated with a partly silvered interior and green patina, in good condition.
Description from the seller
An Achaemenid phiale in hammered and tinned bronze. The bowl rests on a convex base, the rim slightly everted. The interior is partially covered with a beautiful silver lustre and a green patina. The rim is defined by a broad recessed ring and is adorned with fine vertical lines.
Good condition, nice patina - small tear.
Persia, Achaemenid Empire, 5th to 4th centuries BCE.
Dimensions: diameter 13.5 cm - height 4.6 cm.
Provenance: France, Étude B.G.D.
