Description from the seller

The soul behind the bronze
I have the pleasure of proposing at auction this splendid sculpture by Ettore Malestro, an artist who has elevated infant portraiture to true visual poetry. It is not merely a bronze object, but a work that captures a moment of pure joy: the spontaneous laughter of a child.
What makes this piece special is the vibrant plasticity of the face; while looking at it, one almost has the impression that the child is about to move. The lost-wax casting is of excellent workmanship, with an original dark patina that time has made even deeper and more fascinating.
• The Author: Signed along the neck on the side “Malestro”, guarantee of authenticity and the artist’s hand.
Quality and Condition: The bronze is flawless, with no scratches, a sign of careful preservation over the years. The veined marble base has a small chip on one edge, a detail I prefer to report for transparency but which, in my opinion, adds that 'lived-in' flavor that only antique pieces possess.
• Measurements: Total height 20 cm, base 12x8 cm. Perfect dimensions to enhance a desk or an elegant bookshelf.
An opportunity to acquire a piece of Italian 20th-century sculpture that exudes positive energy in every setting.
