Description from the seller
A miniature bi-folio from a Quran originating in the state of Bihar, India, circa 1425. In this case there are 17 lines of fine script with gold 'aya' marking the verses and 'Allah' written in gold thuluth font. The folio has a fine marginal illuminating the text, marking the 15th verse.
The folio contains scripture from chapter 28, Al-Qasas (The Whole Story) v.13-18, which focus on the conclusion of the story of Prophet Moses' (Musa) birth, his restoration to his mother, and his transition into manhood, highlighting themes of divine promise, mercy, and guidance. Key themes from these verses are: divine control through God protecting his servants, turning the enemy's home into a place of safety for Moses; repentance as Moses seeks forgiveness for mistakes is the way of the prophets.; and wisdom, in that nowledge and judgment are divine gifts given to the righteous.
