Magic Mirror is one of Escher’s most mind-bending works, full of optical illusions and infinite patterns. In the image, strange creatures seem to emerge from a mirror, coming to life from their own reflection. It’s a perfect example of his fascination with symmetry and impossible worlds!
Escher became obsessed with geometric patterns after visiting the Alhambra in 1922. The intricate Islamic designs he saw there inspired him to play with perception and impossible shapes. In Magic Mirror, he takes this idea to another level, turning reflections into living figures in a way that feels almost magical!
