Tapestry - 49 cm - 92 cm - Antique Zardozi Goldwork
Ca 1900
An antique so called Zardozi (meaning: words for ‘gold’ and ‘work’) metal embroidery: silver- and goldthread on silk. These embroideries adorned royal tents and were expansive wallhangings.
This particular one depicts floral motives, singing birds and peacocks. It’s in good used order, but some wear and use, on the silk and the thread. See the pictures for details.
