Description from the seller
For sale: Fotokor-1, a historic Soviet glass plate camera produced by the GOMZ factory in Leningrad between 1930 and 1941. This model is famous for being the first mass-produced camera in the Soviet Union (over 1 million units), becoming an icon of photojournalism and amateur photography of the era.
It is a 9x12 cm bellows camera with dual extension, inspired by contemporary German designs (such as ICA or Nagel). The lens is a Ortagoz anastigmat 135mm f/4.5, mounted on a GOMZ central shutter with shutter speeds of 1/25, 1/50, 1/100 plus B and T. The camera offers vertical and horizontal decentration of the lens and is equipped with a rangefinder viewfinder and a rotating “Brilliant” mirror viewfinder with a bubble level. A piece of Soviet technological history, ideal for collectors. Included is a Fotokor-1 camera with a rear plate holder, as shown in the images.
