Trevisan Carlo presents an oil on canvas original titled “Brothers” (Fratelli), hand-signed and dated 2024, in a surrealist style depicting two brown horses in a near mirror-like composition, 30 x 30 cm (30 x 30 x 4 cm) on a wooden frame, in excellent condition and sold directly from the artist.
Description from the seller
In this work titled 'Brothers', Trevisan unfolds his magical realism through the noble profile of the horse, transforming a classic subject of art into a profound reflection on bonds and duality.
The painting depicts two bay horses, captured in a moment of extreme closeness, whose silhouettes intertwine in a composition that evokes harmony and mutual protection.
The two profiles face each other almost in mirror image, creating a visual continuity between the necks and chests. This geometric interlock suggests that brotherhood is not merely a matter of blood, but a completion of one by the other.
The expressiveness of the eyes is, as always with Trevisan, the focal point of emotion. The horses’ gaze is gentle and vigilant at the same time, capable of conveying that intimate, conspiratorial silence that characterizes the closest bonds.
The artist highlights the musculature and the sheen of the brown coat through warm shading, which contrasts with the white of the facial markings ("stars" and "blazes"), giving the two animals a distinctive yet symmetrical identity. Here too, there is no trace of a stable or a meadow.
The "brothers" are immersed in a hazy horizon between blue and gray, a suspended dimension that elevates the subject from the naturalistic plane to the symbolic and universal one.
In "Brothers", the strength of the animal is softened by the delicacy of feeling. Trevisan manages to strip the image of every excess to focus on the essential: the beauty of closeness and the solidity of an affection that does not need words to be expressed.
Oil painting on canvas, gallery-wrapped on a wooden frame, 30 x 30 x 4 cm; painted along the edges and ready to hang.
