Decorative ornament - Austria - Copera Candelabrum

Polychromed wooden cup-shaped candelabrum, made in the second half of the 20th century. The female figure, carved in the round, stands on a square base, with arms extended holding two black cups, possibly conceived as candle holders. She wears a long tunic in two tones: the bodice in deep red and the skirt in a natural shade, decorated with hand-painted floral motifs. A brown "X"-shaped pattern runs vertically down the front of the dress, accentuating the symmetry of the design.

The face is finely sculpted, with defined features and brown hair combed back. The polychromy, in a folk style, preserves expressive strokes and a certain decorative naivety, evoking Central European or Latin American artisanal traditions. A decorative piece of folkloric character, with a possible ritual or domestic function, that combines utility and symbolism in its design.
